Ship your audiometer to us, we calibrate it to manufacturer specifications, and return it with full certification paperwork ready for your next audit.

Regulatory Compliance

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95(h)(5) requires that audiometers used for hearing conservation testing be calibrated at least annually in accordance with ANSI S3.6 (Specification for Audiometers). A current calibration certificate is required for every audiogram to be defensible in an OSHA inspection. Foster Special Instruments calibrations meet or exceed:

Mail-In Process

1. Request a Quote: Email jeff@fosterinstruments.com or call with your audiometer make and model. We'll confirm pricing and send shipping instructions plus a calibration intake form.
2. Pack & Ship: Pack the audiometer, headset, and any accessories that need calibration. Include the intake form. Ship to Foster Special Instruments, 6941 Cornell Rd Unit B, Cincinnati OH 45242.
3. We Calibrate: Mail-in calibrations are completed and returned within three business days from the day you send the audiometer to Foster. We notify you if any repairs are needed before proceeding.
4. Return & Certificate: Audiometer returned via your preferred carrier with calibration certificate, traceable readings, and any service notes. Return shipping invoiced at actual cost.

Free Loaner Program

If your audiometer requires extensive repairs that extend turnaround beyond the standard three-business-day turnaround, Foster Special Instruments offers free loaner audiometers to active calibration customers so your testing schedule never stops. Just ask when we contact you about the repair.
